Centralines and Lodestone Energy reach financial close on NZ utility-scale solar farm

It will generate enough renewable electricity to power around 7,000 homes.

Centralines and Lodestone Energy have reached financial close on a new utility-scale solar farm in New Zealand's Hawke's Bay region.

The Central Hawke's Bay Solar Farm is being developed through a 50:50 joint venture between the two companies. The project will begin construction this spring.

ASB Bank provided funding for the project, supported by legal, financial, insurance and commercial partners who contributed throughout the development process.

Once complete, the solar farm will generate enough renewable electricity to power around 7,000 local homes.

The electricity will be supplied directly into the Centralines network, increasing local renewable generation and strengthening energy resilience across Central Hawke’s Bay.

The project supports Centralines' long-term goal of delivering locally generated electricity while retaining economic benefits within the Central Hawke’s Bay community.
