H2G Green outlines plan to strengthen Singapore as LNG hub

This is in line with the city-state’s net-zero emissions goal.

H2G Green Limited has outlined its strategy to fuel efforts in establishing Singapore as a liquefied natural gas (LNG) hub.

"International oil and gas majors have undertaken much of Singapore's LNG business, but we also have enormous untapped potential right here with impactful homegrown companies like H2G," said H2G Green CEO Pek Hak Bin who was appointed early June.

H2G focuses on biomass-to-hydrogen development and expanding utilisation of LNG.

Pek said the company will specifically focus on showcasing the role of domestic firms in decarbonisation and progress towards net zero by 2050. He will also work on expanding not only Singapore, but also the rest of Southeast Asia and also establish commercial and institutional partnerships.

"Looking ahead, this will be the priority for H2G — to expand possibilities for the impact domestic green energy firms can have, for Singapore and beyond,” Pek said.

This goal will also help in the city-state’s efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, whilst also shoring up energy security.
