‘K’ LINE acquires full ownership of KWS in offshore wind push

The move aims to improve decision-making and integration.

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) has acquired all remaining shares of K Line Wind Service, Ltd. from Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., making KWS a wholly owned subsidiary.

KWS, established in 2021 as a joint venture, provides offshore wind support services including work vessel operations and geotechnical survey vessels.

According to “K” LINE, the acquisition is intended to accelerate decision-making processes and enable more integrated management of KWS.

The company expects the streamlined structure to enhance operational efficiency, support business expansion in offshore wind services, and improve overall corporate value across the group.

The acquisition took effect on 31 March 2026. Offshore Operation Co., Ltd. will continue supporting KWS within the K LINE Group.
