SECI inks deal to develop framework promoting green hydrogen

This will allow India to work on joint tender design concepts.

India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has announced that the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) has signed an agreement that will establish a collaborative framework to promote green hydrogen initiatives.

In a statement, the ministry said the memorandum of understanding was signed by SECI and H2Global Stiftung. The collaboration aims to enhance knowledge exchange on market-based mechanisms and foster cooperation between India and importing countries, contributing to the advancement of the green hydrogen economy.

This also offers India the opportunity to work on joint tender design concepts, specifically in structuring joint tenders aligned with its ambition to become an export hub of green hydrogen and its derivatives.

The cooperation may provide insights into global hydrogen market dynamics, including trade logistics and stakeholder engagement, which can be instrumental in furthering India’s green hydrogen initiatives, the ministry said.
