Nexif Ratch bags pre-development ECC for 500 MW wind project in PH

This development paves the way for crucial activities to kick off construction.

Nexif Ratch Energy has secured the pre-development environmental compliance certificate for the 500-megawatt (MW) San Miguel Bay Wind Power Project in the Philippines.

In a statement, the company said the certificate was granted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The approval paves the way for crucial pre-development activities crucial for understanding the project site’s characteristics, and ensuring that development decisions are informed and sustainable.

The San Miguel Bay Wind Project received the Certificate of Energy Project of National Significance from the Department of Energy in December 2024. It was also recognised as a Strategic Investment under the Green Lane Initiative of the Philippine Board of Investments.

Nexif Ratch Energy is also working on the pre-development ECC for the 475 MW Lucena Wind Power Project in Quezon Province.

“These ongoing development efforts position the company strongly for the upcoming Green Energy Auction 5 (GEA-5) by the DOE, slated for the third quarter of 2025,” the company said.
