Sembcorp’s net profit down 1% in H1
Its business segments recorded mixed results.
Sembcorp Industries has reported a net profit after exceptional items (EI) of $536m in the first half (H1) of 2025, down 1% from last year.
In a bourse filing, the company said net profit before EI for the Gas and Related Services segment was $330m, down 3% from the previous year. Earnings were steady as lower generation spreads in Singapore and the absence of contribution from Phu My 3 in Vietnam were offset by contribution from Senoko Energy.
For the renewables segment, earnings increased 27% to $132m, thanks to a higher contribution from India on better wind resource and higher operational renewables capacity.
Sembcorp’s gross installed renewables capacity increased to 13.8 gigawatts (GW) in H1 from 10.0 GW in H1 last year. However, performance was impacted by higher curtailment and lower tariffs in China.
The Integrated Urban Solutions segment, meanwhile, logged a $74m net profit, up 1% from last year. This was supported by higher land sales in Indonesia as well as improved earnings from the water business in China.
Sembcorp’s Board of Directors announced an interim dividend of 9.0 cents per ordinary share, which will be paid on 26 August.
