Singapore and India looking into establishing energy corridor

An agreement has been signed for this.

Singapore and India are studying the establishment of an energy corridor that will focus on renewables between the two countries, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.

Jaideep Mazumdar, secretary (East) in the MEA, said there is already some work going on regarding a possible green hydrogen corridor between India and Singapore.

“Along the eastern part of India, one in from Tuticorin and the other that is being identified is from Paradeep in Odisha,” he said.

Singapore-based Sembcorp and the Government of Odisha recently signed an agreement related to this. The deal includes exploring the development of a green hydrogen production facility in the state.

Aside from a green energy corridor, Singapore and India are also discussing a data corridor between Gujarat, Gift City and Singapore.
