Eurus Energy begins operation of 42 MW Kabaoka Wind Farm

The wind farm will power over 31,000 households and reduce emissions by 47,000 tonnes per year.

Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, through the group company Dohoku Wind Farm LLC, has completed construction of the 42 megawatts (MW) Kabaoka Wind Farm, starting operations on 5 February 2024.

Located in Wakkanai City, Hokkaido, the wind farm is part of the Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project, following the Hamasato, Kawaminami, and Kawanishi Wind Farms.

Kabaoka Wind Farm includes 10 wind turbines with an output of 4.2 MW each. The resulting power generated will be directed to Hokkaido Electric Power Network Inc., projected to power almost 31,000 average households and reduce emissions by 47,000 tonnes per year.

The Dohoku Wind Power Generation Project comprises 107 wind turbines at an overall six wind farms in the northern Hokkaido area, which is considered one of Japan’s most suitable areas for wind power generation with favourable wind conditions.
