ACEN and UPC begin construction of 540 MW of renewables in India
These will be completed by 2027.
ACEN has partnered with UPC Renewables for the construction of 540 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy projects in India.
In a statement, ACEN said construction has commenced for a 420 MW solar farm in Rajasthan and a 120 MW wind farm in Karnataka. These are expected to generate a total of 1,158 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity annually that can energise 241,000 homes and avoid over 876,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
The projects are set to be completed by early 2027.
“These new projects build on the momentum of ACEN and UPC Renewables' joint efforts in India, which already includes three operational assets: the 420 MW Masaya Solar, 70 MW Paryapt Solar and 140 MW Sitara Solar,” the Philippines-based energy company said.
