Adani Green Energy logs over 15 GW of installed renewable capacity

The energy company surpassed this level the fastest in the country.

Renewable energy company Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has surpassed 15,000 megawatts (MW) of operational capacity, with the addition of over 3,000 MW in fiscal year 2025.

In a bourse filing, the company said its operating capacity has reached 15,539.9 MW, which can power approximately 7.9 million households. Its portfolio includes 11,005.5 MW of solar, 1,977.8 MW of wind, and 2,556.6 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity.

AGEL said it “is the first and only renewable energy company in India to attain this landmark achievement, primarily through greenfield projects.”

“We aim to accelerate even faster from 15,000 MW to 50,000 MW by 2030, remaining steadfast in our mission to power India and the world with sustainable energy solutions,” said AGEL CEO Ashish Khanna.

Khavda remains central to AGEL’s capacity growth with 5,355.9 MW commissioned at the 30,000 MW renewable energy plant the company is developing in the area.

Set to be the world’s largest renewable energy plant, the facility is being built on the barren wasteland at Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat. Built across 538 square kilometres, it is five times the size of Paris and will be visible from space.

AGEL has operationalised a cumulative capacity of 5,355.9 MW of renewable energy in Khavda.
