Alternergy unit, electric cooperative to connect wind project to national grid
This will include the construction of a 37-kilometre transmission line.
Alternergy subsidiary Alabat Wind Power Corporation (AWPC) and the Quezon 1 Electric Cooperative signed a memorandum of agreement to collaborate on the dispatching of power supply from the Alabat Wind Farm Project to the Luzon Grid.
In a disclosure, Alternergy said the memorandum mandates AWPC to construct a 37-kilometre, 69-kilovolt transmission line from its wind project to the Hondugua Substation of the National Grid Corporation.

Meanwhile, the local cooperative will build a 10 megavolt-amperes substation and will assist Alternergy in securing right-of-way requirements.
Alternergy will support Quezon 1 to secure financing for its substation.
"Our cooperation with QUEZELCO 1 is very crucial to ensure that the renewable supply from the Alabat Wind Farm Project will be transported and delivered to the main grid within the timeline we have committed under the Green Energy Auction 2 (GEA 2) Program,” Knud Hedeager, president of AWPC said.
