EVN installs rotor for unit 1 of Hoa Binh hydropower expansion

This lays groundwork for upcoming electromechanical installations.

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has completed the installation of the rotor of Unit No 1 of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project.

In a statement, EVN said this “is a pivotal step in the sequence of turbine-generator assembly procedures, requiring synchronised and precise coordination amongst construction, supervision, and electromechanical installation units.”

The rotor weighs approximately 585 tonnes and is the rotating component of the generator.

This development sets the groundwork for subsequent electromechanical installations, testing, and commissioning to generate electricity from Unit No. 1, EVN said.
