India OKs INR 8,146.21 crore for 700 MW Tato-II Hydro Electric Project

This will be completed in 72 months.

India’s Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved an investment of INR 8,146.21 crore for the construction of the Tato-II Hydro Electric Project in Shi Yomi District of Arunachal Pradesh.

According to the Ministry of Power, the project has an installed capacity of 700 megawatts and would produce 2738.06 million units of energy. This will be implemented through a joint venture between North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Indian government will also allocate INR 458.79 crore as budgetary support for the construction of roads, bridges and associated transmission lines.

The Tato-II Hydro Electric project is expected to be completed in 72 months.
