Jeonnam 1 completes installation of wind turbines
This will benefit 60,000 households once fully operational.
The 96 megawatt (MW) Jeonnam 1 Offshore Wind Farm in South Korea has reached a major development following the completion of its turbine installation.
According to Copenhagen Offshore Partners, which has co-led project development activities for Jeonnam 1, the installation of turbines commenced in September 2024 and was completed on 18 December.
The 96 MW offshore wind farm located in Shinan county off the southwest coast of Korea. It represents the first privately-led large-scale offshore wind power project in the country.
Commercial operation is expected in the first half of 2025. When fully operational, Jeonnam 1 will provide green electricity to power approximately 60,000 households.
Jeonnam 1 is a joint venture spearheaded by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its fund Copenhagen Infrastructure III, and SK Innovation E&S. COP is the exclusive offshore wind development partner to CIP.
