JERA finalises system framework for LNG adoption in the Philippines
JERA has also been named as a contractor for LNG projects in the Philippines.
JERA Co., Inc (JERA) has completed its agreement with the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) for the system design and technical support for the adoption of LNG in the Philippine market.
The agreement was finalised after JERA was selected as the primary contractor for the system design and other support for the local adoption of LNG.
Under the agreement, JERA will provide support for the regulation of facilities, national regulations, management of natural gas demand, lifecycle assessment of natural gas facilities, and sharing of knowledge of LNG sources. The energy company will also assess the environmental impact of LNG adoption in the Philippines.

The Philippines is set to broaden its adoption of gas-fired thermal power generation as a measure against the increasing demand for electricity and the decline of natural gas. A full-scale implementation of LNG is necessary to answer to the supply and demand.
JERA’s efforts in the Philippines is a part of its JERA Zero CO2 Emissions 2050 initiative, delivering roadmaps for decarbonisation and measures to promote zero emissions.
