NHPC to complete Tawang hydroproject exploration works by Aug '12

NHPC has resubmitted the detailed project report for the 800 MW Tawang-II hydro-electric project to the CEA after incorporating certain revisions.

 

The NHPC executed project is currently awaiting concurrence from CEA, subject to the incorporation of, among others, the important recommendations.

Suggestions made by the Central Water Commission on hydrology, Hydel civil design, Barrage design aspect etc must be incorporated by NHPC in the project, CEA has said.

NHPC has also been asked to expedite its site specific seismic studies to be put up to the National Committee on Seismic Design Parameters for its recommendations on seismic design parameters for detailed design of different components of the projects Further, CEA has directed NHPC to complete all exploration/investigation works by August 2012, in accordance with the project schedule and submit a final and interim monthly reports to CEA, CWC and GSI for appraisal.

Finally, the commissioning schedule of generating units has been set at 80, 81, 82 and 83 months for Units -
1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively.
