NHPC-OHPC to develop 300 MW hydel projects

NHPC and Orissa Hydro Power Corporation are likely to sign an MoU for construction of three hydel projects. It will have an aggregate capacity of 300 MW, across the Mahanadi river in Orissa.



Discussions between the two public sector power firms to finalize the different clauses of the MoU are reportedly at an advanced stage.
 8As per the preliminary agreements reached between the duo, NHPC will hold a majority stake, 51 per cent, in the proposed joint venture company, while OHPC will contribute the balance equity.
