PetroGreen Energy unit bags secures gov’t approval for Capiz solar project
This will be the company’s single biggest contiguous solar power facility.
A unit of Philippines-based PetroGreen Energy Corporation has received a certificate of authority for the company’s Panit-an solar power project (PSPP).
In a bourse filing, PetroGreen Energy said its new special purpose company EcoSolar Energy Corporation received the certificate from the Department of Energy.
PSPP, a ground-mounted solar project, is expected to have a capacity of around 90 to 100 megawatts. It will be developed on an 88-hectare land in the municipality of Panit-an, Capiz.
“When completed, it will yet be PGEC’s single biggest contiguous solar power facility. The COA allows us a year to secure the necessary development permits, conduct feasibility studies, and mature the project towards final investment decision and the application of a solar energy operating contract, “ said PSPP project manager Hiroki Hiwatashi.
