Sagardighi Thermal Plant construction starts in 2 months

The construction of the 1,000MW Sagardighi thermal plant in West Bengal, India, is expected to commence in two months.



West Bengal's principal secretary for power, Malay Kumar De, made the announcement during an interactive session on 'National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency', organised by Confederation of Indian Industry.

The plant is scheduled to be completed in four years, De said.

A 250MW unit will become operational next month in Santaldih thermal power station of the West Bengal Power Development Corporation, and another 250MW thermal power plant in Haldia would be done in three years.
