Technopromexport agrees to complete Barh project by 2014

Technopromexport will complete construction activities for the main plant of NTPC`s 1,980 MW Barh Stage-I power project in Bihar by October 2014.

As per the revised schedule agreed upon by Technopromexport and NTPC, the former will complete the facilities for Unit-I, II and III on October 29, 2013, April 29, 2014 and October 29, 2014, respectively.

To adhere to the new deadlines, TPE has awarded the sub-contract for boiler erection work to the Mumbai-based IOT Engineering Projects Limited, on December 21, 2010, and the  is presently busy mobilizing its resources for the assignment.

NTPC and TPE ended their long-standing spat in October last year by making certain amendments to the original contract, signed back in 2005.

Work on the project was stalled for a long time, following a contractual dispute, with the Russian firm demanding more money, just after bagging the contract in March 2005, citing higher steel prices.
