Terra Solar taps more partners for 3.5 GW plant
Another Chinese company bagged the EPC contract.
Terra Solar Philippines Inc. (TSPI), a wholly owned subsidiary of SP New Energy Corporation (SPNEC), has selected new partners to accelerate the development of the 3,500 megawatt Terra Solar project, the world’s largest solar power and battery storage facility.
In a statement, TSPI said it signed an engineering, procurement, and construction contract with the Power Construction Corporation of China Ltd. along with its affiliates (Power China). This covers warranty, defect resolution, and the implementation of operational and maintenance protocols.
Power China will handle the development of Terra Solar’s East section, which spans approximately 1,505 hectares across areas in Nueva Ecija. This section accounts for 1,050 megawatt-peak of the total capacity of the project.
In another statement, US-based Jacobs said it was selected to deliver engineering services, technical advice, and construction phase services. It will use the latest digital construction management tools and drone technology to manage field tasks, streamline site inspections and track progress across the 3,000 hectare project site.
Jacobs will also oversee supply chain and equipment delivery logistics, expediting the manufacture, inspection, shipping and installation of millions of solar panels.
