Thailand, Kazakhstan to cooperate on energy projects

Top officials note great potential of partnership.

Kazakh Ambassador to Thailand Marat Yesenbayev met with Thai Energy Minister Pongsak Ruktapongpisal to discuss the prospects of cooperation in energy sphere.

Ruktapongpisal said that Thailand highly appreciates bilateral relations with Kazakhstan and noted the existing great potential in each sphere of partnership is not fully used.

He expressed Thailand’s interest in investing in the construction of thermal power stations in Kazakhstan. He noted Kazakhstan’s favorable geographical location can be used for exporting its energy surplus to neighboring countries, thus opening great opportunities for potential investors from Thailand.

An agreement was reached for Ruktapongpisal to visit Kazakhstan to hold relevant meetings and negotiations on possible investments and on the issues of bilateral energy cooperation.
