Two firms to build 88-MW hydropower plants in Laos

The Phongsubthavy Road and Bridge Construction and Dongfang Electric International Company have agreed to build hydropower plants with a combined installed generation capacity of over 88 MW.

The hydropower plants to be built include a 14.8-MW hydropower plant on the Xe Nam Noy in Attapau province, a 44-MW hydrowpower dam on the Nam Ngieb in Xiengkhouang province, and a 30 MW dam on Nam Ngiep in Borikhamsay province.

According to the contract, the Dongfang Electric International Company will provide electrical machineries and seek financial providers for the project of which the construction will be carried out by the Phongsubthavy Road and Bridge Construction.
