Vena Energy, Amazon starts 125 MW Australia solar project
The project can supply power to around 60,000 homes each year.
Vena Energy and Amazon started the commercial operations of their 125-megawatt (MW) solar project in Woleebee, Queensland.
In a statement, the parties said the Amazon Solar Project Australia-Wandoan, which is composed of over 250,000 solar panels, can generate power to meet the demands of over 60,000 households annually.
The Amazon solar project owned and operated by Vena Energy, is part of the Wandoan South Project which is allowed to build 650 MW of solar capacity of 450 MW of battery storage.

“Queensland’s legendary renewable resources, publicly-owned energy system and world-class Energy and Jobs Plan provide a strong foundation for investment, and the Amazon Solar Farm is the latest renewable energy project to come online as a result,” said Minister Mick de Brenni, Queensland minister for Energy and Clean Economy Jobs.
Amazon has seven renewable energy projects in Australia with a total investment of $305m (A$467m).
