Vietnam's Vung Tau province implements energy efficiency projects

Vung Tau Province hopes to save 5-7% of total energy consumption by 2015 through several energy efficiency projects.

 

The province's Industry Promotion Center of Ba Ria has developed eight projects under the energy saving program with total funding of nearly 3 billion.

The use of solar energy to generate electricity is the most popular applied solution in Ba Ria - Vung Tau. In addition, the Center has over time has provided support to pre-schools in some provinces to gradually bring the solar water heater to public buildings, schools.

Apart from using solar power to save electricity, current usage of biogas to run generators or used in heating,

cooking is also an effective solution that brings more economic value, ensures environmental protection and energy efficiency, especially in livestock and poultry farms.

The projects also involved the building of a pilot energy efficiency household model and providing awareness raising campaign on energy efficiency in the province; organizing energy audit trainings and provide consultation on installing energy saving devices in factories and etc.
