Adani Power to double its capacity

Adani Power plans to double its power generation capacity to 3,960MW in the current fiscal year.

 

Adani Power CEO Prabal Banerji revealed that the company is constructing about 16,500MW plants across India, which includes 4,620MW project at Mundra, Gujarat and a 3,300MW project at Tiroda, Maharashtra.

The company has arranged finance for about 13,200MW of projects and expects to tie up funds for a new 3,300MW unit, to come up at Bhadreshwar in Gujarat by June 2012.

The company also plans to sell majority of its production through long-term power purchase agreements.
