CEM to review power network's reliability

CEM is reviewing the condition of the power network and defining a medium and long-term development plan to reinforce the network reliability. This is to further ensure the reliability of power supply to be in line with the surge of electricity consumption.

This was announced by Companhia de Electricidade de Macau after a fault at an underground high-voltage cable located at Rua de Afonso de Albuquerque Escola Hou Kong  led to a power outage to some of the customers at Rua de Afonso de Albuquerque, Avenida Horta e Costa, Rua da Barca, Rua Almirante Costa Cabral and Rua do Bispo Medeiros. About 2,000 customers were affected.

The company also announced that a number of investment projects on equipment enhancement will be submitted to the Government, which includes a Smart Grid project to cope with the future development of Macao.
