India surpasses generation targets for June

The installed generation capacity for the thermal, hydro and nuclear sectors in India, stands at 1,55,973.32 MW according to the latest Central Electricity Authority report.

Energy generation figures for the month of June reveal that actual generation surpassed its targets by nearly 2%, at 70,790.41 million units, as against a target of 69,259.33 MU.

For the ongoing fiscal, thus far, a cumulative 2,17,225.45 MUs of electricity have been generated, as against the targeted 2,09,253.25 MUs for the period, which is also 8% more than the electricity generated in the same period last year.
