Vietnam to get $4b investment in clean energy

One of the projects is the $2.2b Son My 1 gas-fired power plant.

A $4b investment has been announced as part of pledges in a conference attended by nearly 30 domestic and foreigh firms last Wednesday.

Vietnam's southern province of Binh Thuan is set to be the recipient of the investments intended for renewable energy projects.

The projects are aimed at making Binh Thuan the country's major energy centre, with capacity totaling over 12,000MW by 2020.
