CR Power posts 16,490MW generation capacity

CR Power's total operational attributable capacity as at 30 October 2009 has increased to 16,490 MW. This is partly due to the recent commissioning of plants at Tangshan City, Bayannur City, Guangzhou City, and Lianyuan City.

Located in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, CR Caofedian Plant has two 300 MW coal-fired heat and power co-generation units started construction on 20 September 2007 and commenced commercial operation on 29 June 2009 and 13 July 2009, respectively, with construction period of 14 months and 16 months, respectively. Electricity generated by the plant is supplied to Hebei Northern Grid. The approved on-grid tariff is RMB 371.4/MWh. CR Power owns a 90 percent equity interest.

CR Dengkou Plant, which is located in Bayannur City of Inner Mongolia, has a 300 MW coal-fired air-cooled heat and power co-generation unit commenced commercial operation on 1 September 2009. Electricity generated by the plant is supplied to Inner Mongolia Western Grid. The approved on-grid tariff is RMB 269.9/MWh. CR Power owns a 75 percent equity interest.

CR Nansha Plant is located in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. The first 300 MW
coal-fired heat and power co-generation unit commenced commercial operation on 9 October 2009. Electricity generated by the plant is supplied to Guangdong provincial power grid under China Southern Grid. The approved on-grid tariff is RMB 489.2/MWh. CR Power owns a 70 percent equity interest.

CR Lianyuan Plant is located in Lianyuan City of Hunan Province. It is a mine-mouth project sourcing coal from local areas. The second 300 MW coal-fired unit passed the 168-hour full load pilot run and commenced commercial operation on 13 October 2009. Electricity generated by the plant is supplied to Hunan provincial power grid under the Central China Power Grid. The approved on-grid tariff is RMB 445/MW.
