PetroEnergy's Maibarara 2 geothermal plant upgrade finally nears completion

The 12MW expansion costs around $38m.

Philippines-based PetroEnergy said that the 12MW expansion of the Maibarara 2 geothermal plant will finally be completed by the fourth quarter. The upgrade is estimated to cost around $38m.

Power generated from the geothermal project will be sold to Phinma Energy.

The plant, which began operating in 2014, currently has a capacity of 20MW.
