Altaaqa receives Gold award and Operations & Maintenance Initiative of the Year accolade at the 2024 Asian Power and Asian Oil & Gas Awards

The company was honoured for its successful delivery of temporary backup power solutions for ARAMCO's operations in Saudi Arabia.

Altaaqa Alternative Solutions Company’s (Altaaqa) commitment to excellence was recognised at the recent 2024 Asian Power Awards and the 2024 Asian Oil & Gas Awards. The recognitions came in response to Altaaqa’s efforts in completing ARAMCO’s Power Tracking Systems and ERDD project.

At the recent 2024 Asian Power Awards, Altaaqa received the  Diesel-Fired Power Project of the Year - Gold accolade and at the 2024 Asian Oil & Gas Awards, Altaaqa received the Operations & Maintenance Initiative of the Year - Saudi Arabia accolade.

The Asian Power Awards celebrates companies making transformative strides to address the effects of the climate crisis and meet the rising demand for energy. In parallel, the Asian Oil & Gas Awards recognises the most outstanding players in Asia’s Oil & Gas sector, honouring those who have successfully crafted strategies and initiatives to adapt to new industry realities.

With meticulous planning and efficient execution, Altaaqa successfully delivered temporary backup diesel generators to ten ARAMCO sites across Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region. The company successfully overcame project challenges and ensured timely delivery to all locations. This effort resulted in reliable, uninterrupted power solutions for ARAMCO's bulk plants, allowing their operations to continue seamlessly.

Following in-depth site assessments, Altaaqa developed a customised solution that included the supply, mobilisation, and installation of Caterpillar Diesel Generators (DGSETS) with capacities ranging from 40 kW to 2,000 kW. The company also supplied high-quality automatic transfer switches (ATS) that quickly detect power outages and seamlessly switch to backup generators.

Additionally, the project involved laying cables and connecting the client’s Motor Control Center (MCC) to Altaaqa’s ATS and DGSETS, all in accordance with ARAMCO standards, ensuring proper electrical protection.

Altaaqa was established 20 years ago as part of Zahid Group’s ambitions in the Kingdom’s energy sector.  Since that time, the company has emerged as a leader in the supply of temporary energy, with state-of-the-art turnkey solutions that are aligned with the Kingdom’s vision for the future. Altaaqa’s efforts have been recognised on numerous occasions. Prior to receiving these 2024 Asian Power and 2024 Asian Oil & Gas Awards, Altaaqa was recognised by Caterpillar as its 2023 Dealer of the Year for the second year in a row.
