2024 Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan conclude successfully, highlighting Taiwan's green energy and net-zero potential

Co-hosted by TAITRA and GESA (Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance), the 2024 Energy Taiwan and Net-Zero Taiwan events were successfully concluded.

The event for 2024 attracted 480 exhibitors, with 1,625 booths—a new record. The three-day event drew about 20,000 experts from the industry. Despite the two-day delay caused by Typhoon Krathon, 705 overseas buyers remained in Taiwan to participate. The five countries with the largest number of buyers were Singapore, Japan, the United States, Vietnam, and China. The event included both industry and government procurement meetings, drawing 38 buyers from 19 countries and resulting in over 130 matchmaking sessions.

Carbon Academy Receives Positive Feedback, Helping Companies Navigate Carbon Management

The newly established "Carbon Academy" was received with great enthusiasm, bringing over 210 industry participants and visitors. Experts from leading accounting firms, Microsoft Taiwan, Tesla Energy, and National Chung Hsing University provided insights into net-zero trends. Carbon management specialists provided one-on-one consultation sessions to help over 20 firms establish personalized net-zero agenda. Professor Lin Kuan-Ju of Chung Hsing University emphasized the importance of understanding the distinctions between carbon management and governance, while Microsoft's General Manager, Stephen Lee, emphasized the role of digital technology in developing automated sustainability management platforms.

In response to global demand for carbon-neutral events, Carbon Academy collaborated with startup A-Drop Technology to offset event emissions using mangrove blue carbon, achieving full carbon neutrality. This blue carbon project was the first of its kind to be listed on the Taiwan Carbon Exchange, and BeZero, a global rating organization, rated it AA.

National and Featured Pavilions Promote International Cooperation

This year's exhibition featured six national pavilions representing the United Kingdom, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Canada. The UK Pavilion, coordinated by the British Office Taipei and the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei, included 13 companies specializing in offshore wind and renewable energy, including wind farm planning, consulting, and advanced technologies. The French Pavilion, organized by the French Office in Taipei, included five companies, including EDF Renewables and Crédit Agricole. Both pavilions stated their intention to attract more new energy and net-zero technology companies in the future, hence strengthening international cooperation.

To coincide with Taiwan's second phase of energy transition, the exhibition featured a special pavilion organized by the Taiwan Energy Service Association and TESSCA. It highlighted several companies that provide energy-saving technologies and smart energy management solutions. These associations intend to invite additional members next year to deliver comprehensive energy-saving services across industries.

Expectations for Growth in 2025 as the Largest Energy and Sustainability Event in Asia-Pacific

With increasing global and local government efforts to implement net-zero carbon policies, the demand for green energy transition and sustainable solutions is growing. In response, the 2025 editions of "Energy Taiwan" and "Net-Zero Taiwan" are expected to expand further, bringing together leading companies from around the world. The event will feature more diverse exhibition areas and activities, aiming to become the most influential platform for energy and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.

The 2025 expo is scheduled to take place from October 29-31 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1.
