TNB, NUR Power ink deal for solar installation, green energy initiatives

This will serve NUR Power’s customers in KHTP.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and N.U.R. Power Sdn. Bhd. (NUR Power) entered a partnership for the installation of solar power and other smart energy technologies for the distribution firms’ customers in the Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) in the state of Kedah.

Aside from installing rooftop solar, the memorandum of understanding signed by the companies also mandated the exploration of large-scale solar solutions and deployment of commercial electric vehicles and charging ecosystems for all the customers in the area, they said in a joint statement.

Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan, chief retail officer at TNB, said establishing collaborations and strategic partnerships are key to boosting the company’s energy transition plans.

“This is in line with the government's agenda in relation to renewable energy capacity and green initiatives as we move towards a better, brighter future for the people of Malaysia,” Megat added.

Ikwan Hafiz Jamaludin, NUR Power managing director, said the partnership between the two energy firms could support the climate goals and ESG targets of multinational companies in KHTP, transforming the area into a leading green technology park in Southeast Asia.
