Morinomiyako Biomass Power Plant begins operation

The 75 MW plant has an annual transmission capacity of 553.3 million kWh.

The Morinomiyako Biomass Power Plant has started operations with a total capacity of 75 megawatts.

Located in Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture, the power plant will use wood pellets and palm kernel shells to generate electricity.

The power plant’s annual power transmission volume is estimated to be around 553.3 million kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to the power consumption of 170,000 households in a year.

The facility’s preparations were led by the Morinomiyako BIomass Energy G.K. and were jointly funded by RENOVA, United Purpose Management Inc., Sumitomo Forestry Co., Mizuho Leasing Co., and RenoDa Partners G.K.
