Masdar, UAE Ministry of Defence partner to install multi-solar plants

The solar projects will be constructed across Abu Dhabi.

Renewables energy firm Masdar and the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence entered a Partnership Agreement to build multi-solar plants in Abu Dhabi.

The agreement was signed by Ministry of Defence Commander of the Military Works Command Brigadier General Saeed Al Ketbi, and Masdar COO and Emerge Chairman Abdulaziz Alobaidli.

Under the agreement, Emerge, the joint venture between Masdar and France’s EDF Group will be the solutions provider for the projects for 25 years.

The Ministry of Defence in December 2023 introduced the UAE Armed Forces’ Climate Change Strategy, boosting its commitment to cut carbon emissions and actively participate in sustainable development.
