Alternergy breaks ground for 28-MW Solana solar project

This will be completed in 2025.

Philippine-based Alternergy Holdings Corp. held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 28-megawatt (MW) Solana Solar Power Project in Barangay Balsik, Hermosa, Bataan, the company announced.

Solana Solar Alpha Inc., a subsidiary of Alternergy unit Solar Pacific Energy Corporation, is the developer of the Bataan solar plant.

Prior to this, Alternergy acquired 74.99% stake in Olympia Solar Power Corporation to act as a project sponsor for the Solar Energy Operating Contract to be applied for by the latter. The solar project will be in a 100-hectare site in Barangay Kalandagan, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat.

Alternergy has secured around $340.7m of funds within 15 months since its maiden offering. The funding will be used to develop the company’s solar and wind farms.
