Smart grid funding fell by 33% in in the first nine months of 2024

However, venture capital funding increased by 13% YoY. 

Even with more deals, corporate funding for smart grid companies decreased by 33% year-on-year (YoY) to $2b in the first nine months of 2024, according to Mercom Capital Group. 

However, smart grid venture capital (VC) funding increased by 13% YoY, raising $1.2b with 37 deals and 64 participating VC investors during the period. 

Moreover, announced debt and public market financing amounted to $568m in 10 deals as compared to $1.7b in 11 deals in 9M 2023.
