Sembcorp inks 25-year solar power deal

Construction of the solar energy farm will commence in 2027.

Sembcorp Industries’ unit Sembcorp Solar Singapore Pte Ltd has signed a 25-year agreeement for a 150-megawatt-peak floating solar photovoltaic (PV) system.

In a statement, Sembcorp said the deal was signed with Malkoha Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Meta Platforms, Inc.

Under the agreement, Sembcorp will build, own, and operate the solar farm on Kranji Reservoir. The system will support Meta’s operations with renewable energy in the region, including its data centre operations in Singapore.

Construction of the floating solar farm is expected to commence in the first half of 2027.

The signing of the REPA is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp for the financial year ending 31 December 2025.
