Philippines eyes mega offshore wind farm with CIP, ACEN

Once completed, it would also be one of the biggest offshore wind farms in Southeast Asia.

Philippine Investment czar and Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go met with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to advance the San Miguel Bay Offshore Wind Power Project in Camarines Sur, a facility planned for up to 1 gigawatt of capacity.

The project is a joint venture between CIP, a global renewable energy fund manager, and ACEN Corporation.

Once completed, it would be the first offshore wind farm in both the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Talks between Go and CIP covered three areas—project milestones, financing arrangements, and preparations for the upcoming Green Energy Auction.

Go voiced support for the project, tying it to the country's renewable energy targets under the Philippine Energy Plan 2023 to 2050.
