Ark Energy seeks green light for Bowmans Creek Wind Farm BESS
This has a power capacity of up to 250 MW.
Ark Energy eyes adding a battery energy storage system (BESS) to Stage 1 of the Bowmans Creek wind project in New South Wales, Australia.
According to the company, the addition of a 250 megawatt BESS will be a modification to the DA.
“A BESS allows for efficient storage of excess energy generated during peak production for later use during low production periods or high demand, improving reliability and reducing energy costs,” it noted.
The BESS will have an energy storage capacity of up to 2,000 megawatt-hours over eight hours.
