KP Group eyes ₹4,000 crore RE investment in Gujarat

The project span 855MW of solar and hybrid capacity.

KP Group has agreed with the Government of Gujarat to develop renewable energy projects involving a proposed investment of ₹4,000 crore, according to KPI Green Energy Limited in a filing.

The proposed projects comprise an aggregate capacity of about 855 megawatts (MWs) covering solar power and ISTS-connected wind–solar hybrid assets across multiple locations in Gujarat, including Devbhumi Dwarka and Kutch (Bhuj), the company said.

The solar portfolio includes a 200-MW (DC) project under the DREBP scheme and captive user segment, alongside a separate 405-MW solar project, according to the press release. Hybrid capacity consists of two ISTS-connected wind–solar projects of 100 MWs and 150 MWs, respectively.

The projects include an estimated employment generation of more than 4,000 and are proposed to be implemented in phases, subject to statutory approvals and clearances, the company said. Under the MoU, the Gujarat government will facilitate required permissions and approvals in line with applicable policies and regulations.
