CleanCo Queensland exits Moah Creek project after full development review
The project does not align with CleanCo’s strategic and commercial priorities.
CleanCo Queensland has announced that it decided not to acquire the Moah Creek Wind Farm.
The decision follows a review of the project’s fit with CleanCo’s strategic priorities and the Queensland Government’s Energy Roadmap.
The company said the wind farm does not align with its current commercial portfolio or investment plans amid changing energy market conditions.
CleanCo will no longer be involved in developing or delivering the project but will continue discussions with developer Central Queensland Power (CQP) on potential future offtake opportunities.
CQP will decide independently on the next steps for the wind farm.
In a separate announcement, the Crisafulli Government said has signed a 10-year power agreement between CleanCo and Windlab.
CleanCo will buy 75% of Kennedy Energy Park’s wind energy from mid-2028, delivering reliable, renewable power to the grid.
The deal strengthens Queensland’s renewable energy capacity in the North West and highlights opportunities from the CopperString transmission project.
Located near Hughenden, the 43MW Kennedy Energy Park is known for strong, consistent winds and dependable annual output.
