AboitizPower posts Php3.9 b Q4 loss after impairment
Full-year EBITDA rises to Php79.6 b.
Aboitiz Power Corporation said reported net income for the full year of 2025 stood at Php19.5b, 43% lower than the Php33.9b reported in 2024, after including forex and derivative gains as well as the partial impairment of GMEC.
AboitizPower generated Php79.6b in beneficial EBITDA in 2025, a 9% increase from Php73.3b in 2024, and said its core net income for the full year 2025 amounted to Php33.1b.
For the fourth quarter of 2025, AboitizPower reported a beneficial EBITDA of Php23.3b and said the strong EBITDA performance translated into a core net income of Php10.0b.
Still, it recognised Php13.9b in non-recurring losses, mostly related to the partial impairment of goodwill arising from the acquisition of GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC).
After accounting for impairments, FX losses, and other non-recurring items, the company recorded a net loss of Php3.9b for the fourth quarter of 2025.
The company said energy sold totalled 43,718 gigawatt-hours (GWh) for the full year of 2025, whilst energy sales in its Distribution segment rose to 6,927 GWh.
As of 31 December 2025, AboitizPower’s total consolidated assets stood at Php622.8b, total cash and cash equivalents (including short-term investments) stood at Php58.9b, and total consolidated interest-bearing liabilities amounted to Php332.5b.
The company said its current ratio was 0.8x and its net-debt-to-equity ratio was 1.2x as of 31 December 2025, both due to bridge financing for its investments in CGHI and in the Caliraya-Botocan-Kalayaan Hydroelectric Power Plant Complex in 2025.
