The top-up brings total contributions, including matching funds, to over $5m.
Seatrium Limited has contributed an additional $1.7m to expand the Seatrium Professorship at the National University of Singapore College of Design and Engineering.
The investment brings total contributions, including government matching grants, to over $5m to support research, talent development, and innovation in offshore engineering, energy transition, sustainability, and ocean renewables.
The professorship, first established in 2023 with a focus on offshore wind, will feature a wider suite of initiatives covering research leadership, industry collaboration, and technology development.
The initiative includes the appointment of academic and industry-linked Seatrium Professorships and the establishment of a technology foresight platform for industry stakeholders.
It will also support collaboration between industry, academia and government, and help advance the development of scalable, industry-ready solutions.
