Aboitiz Renewables opens 92.55-MWp solar plant in northern Philippines

Supplies power directly to the Luzon grid via the San Manuel 69-kV Substation.

Aboitiz Renewables, Inc. has inaugurated its 92.55-megawatt peak (MWp) San Manuel Solar Power Plant, expanding its renewable energy capacity in Pangasinan and adding power to the Luzon grid.

The solar facility, built in coordination with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), local government units, and host communities, is connected to the grid through the San Manuel 69-kilovolt (kV) Substation.

The San Manuel facility is Aboitiz Renewables' third solar power plant in Pangasinan, following the 154-MWp Laoag 1 and 2 Solar Power Plants and the 94-MWp Cayanga-Bugallon Solar Power Plant.

AboitizPower President and Chief Executive Officer Danel Aboitiz said the project will help strengthen the country's energy system, diversify the power mix, and support long-term energy security as electricity demand continues to increase.

“At AboitizPower, we believe reliable, accessible, and affordable power is key to national progress, and one way we contribute to this is by steadily expanding our renewable energy portfolio, from around 900 megawatts in 2020 to 2.3 gigawatts of attributable net sellable capacity today,” he added.
