MGEN secures ISO certifications for renewable, thermal power businesses
Six solar plants receive Triple ISO Certification.
Meralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN) has secured internationally recognised ISO certifications for its renewable and thermal power businesses, covering quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety standards.
The certifications include ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
MGEN Renewables received Triple ISO Certification from TÜV SÜD Philippines for its head office and six solar plants in Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Bulacan, Isabela, Batangas, and Tarlac.
MGEN President and CEO Emmanuel V. Rubio said the certifications strengthen governance across the company's expanding generation portfolio.
Meanwhile, Cebu Energy Development Corporation, Toledo Power Co., Panay Energy Development Corporation, and Panay Power Corporation renewed their ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 certifications.
MGEN Thermal Energy Inc., formerly Global Business Power Corporation, also renewed its ISO 9001:2015 certification.
The recertifications cover MGEN Thermal's baseload power plants in Cebu, Iloilo, and nearby areas that supply electricity to key load centers.
According to MGEN, the renewed certifications also support its Best-in-Class program, which aims to standardise operations, strengthen process management, improve supply chain and capital planning, and enhance workforce development across its thermal power fleet.
