Vestas completes 215‑turbine build at Golden Plains Wind Farm in Australia
It will deliver 1.33 GW of renewable energy capacity once fully operational.
Vestas has installed the final wind turbine at TagEnergy's Golden Plains Wind Farm, completing all 215 Vestas EnVentus V162-6.MW wind turbines across Australia.
Currently generating around 1.1 gigawatts (GW), the company said it will deliver 1.33 GW of renewable energy capacity once fully operational.
In 2024, TagEnergy achieved financial close for the second stage of the $2.7b (A$4b) wind farm, marking the start of the project construction.
In a statement, TagEnergy said that the funding for the construction of the second stage, which will comprise 93 wind turbine generators, was secured through non-recourse financing from a global group of clean energy transition lenders.
