China’s Penglai Wind Farm starts full operations

The Penglai Wind Farm commenced full commercial operation with a total installed capacity of 42.2MW.

The wind farm is made up of 13 X 2,000 kW and 9 X 1,800kW generation units and sells its electricity to the Shandong provincial power grid. It has an approved on-grid tariff of Rmb610/MWh, inclusive of VAT.

The Wind Farm started construction on 7 May 2008, and the first unit commenced commercial operation on 17 December 2008. China Resources Power, which owns a 95 percent equity interest in the wind farm, noted that the construction period was less than ten months.
