Mundra ultra mega power project almost completed
Seventy-seven per cent of the work at Tata Power's 4,000 MW Mundra ultra mega power project has been completed.
The the steam blowing of Unit-1 currently in progress. The unit is scheduled to be synchronized in July this year, and is expected to start commercial operations by the end of the second quarter.
Boiler light up of Unit-2 of the UMPP is programmed for completion in August 2011, and along with units 3, 4 and 5, it is expected to be commissioned in 2012-13, the first year of the 12th Plan.
Meanwhile, the 400 kV transmission lines covering Mundra-Vadavi, Mundra-Jetpur, Mundra-Limbdi, and Gandhar-Navsari, designed to evacuate power from the massive plant are also under development.
